We know our customers’ journeys don’t start on the jet bridge. That’s why we are dedicated to transforming the airport experience. Delta has participated in more than $7 billion in airport projects since 2006 and will be involved in an additional $12 billion of projects in the coming years, with major projects underway in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Atlanta. We’ve redesigned and updated Delta Sky Clubs, most recently at Ronald Reagan National Airport, and launched biometric check-in service at all Delta Sky Club locations. We’ve introduced RFID baggage tracking technology which served as a catalyst towards a global plan to standardize RFID in all airline baggage tags.
As a major e-commerce provider, we have worked to ensure seamless, comprehensive service via the Fly Delta app and Delta.com. Delta was the first airline to offer cancelled or delayed flight rebooking via our Fly Delta app and sophisticated bag tracking. We now have auto check-in on the app for domestic flights so our customers can quickly access their boarding pass. Delta.com is now more responsive to your flight preferences, shopping history and connectivity to the Fly Delta app.
Delta has been investing in our fleet as we upgrade and enhance the in-flight experience. New aircraft include our flagship Airbus 350 aircraft for international flights with the award winning Delta One Suite, as well as the Boeing 737-900ER and Airbus 321 jets on domestic service, with free in-flight entertainment, expanded luggage bins, high-speed 2ku internet connectivity and free mobile messaging, and expanded premium food and beverage offerings. Our pilots can offer a smoother ride using the new Flight Weather Viewer technology to avoid turbulence.
